Junior Sew-ciology 2: Recommended age group is 9-16yrs.
An introduction into the world of sewing, this course is ideal for kids 9 & up who show an interest in the art form. This small group class setting will allow kids to learn the basics of how to operate a sewing machine safely. They will have the opportunity to let their creativity take on new forms. Practicing eye-hand coordination, operating a sewing machine & patience.
- Requirement: Some Sewing Machine Experience or Lvl 1
- Class length: 6 x 1.5hr

If your child has completed Lvl 1 Junior Sew-ciology this is the course outline for Lvl 2
- Requirement: completed Junior Sew-ciology 1
- Small class sizes: 6 students
- Class length: 6 x 1.5hr
Course Outline:
Level 2: Class #1:
- Introduction to hand sewing
- Threading needle
- Tying knots
- Different Stitching Techniques (Running, Ladder, Cross, Blanket & Whip Stitch)
Class #2:
- Introduction on how to sew with Zippers
- Making a Small Zipper Bag
Class #3 & #4 & #5: Project: PJ Pant Pattern
- Learning to read a commercial pattern
- Learning to take body measurements (to determine sizing)
- Learning the importance of Pre-washing fabrics
- Laying out pattern pieces on fabrics
- Cutting out pattern
- Learning to sew a garment
- Importance of Directional Sewing
- Using all skills developed from Junior Sew-ciology 1 & 2
Class #6: Final Project: Plushy
- Putting into practice all skills developed.
- Machine sewing, Hand sewing
- Button eyes
Course with all supplies provided totals $200.00 plus tax
Important information:
Learn in a cozy environment where supplies are included. The classroom is fully equipped with conventional sewing machines & all the tools you need.
Small classes mean more time with your teacher.
Please bring slippers/indoor shoes for the classroom.
