Ready to take your sewing skills to the next level? Junior Sew-ciology 2 is designed for young sewists who have completed Junior Sew-ciology 1 or have some previous sewing machine experience.

In this hands-on class, students will refresh their sewing machine skills while learning new techniques in both machine and hand sewing. Through two fun projects—a small zipper bag and a pair of pajama pants—students will build confidence, creativity, patience, and eye-hand coordination while learning valuable sewing skills they can use for future projects.

What Students Will Learn
Hand Sewing & Visible Mending

Students will be introduced to hand sewing and visible mending techniques, including:

Threading a needle
Running stitch
Ladder stitch
Blanket stitch
Whip stitch

Zippers & Small Zipper Bag

Students will learn how to work with zippers and put their new skills into practice by creating a small zipper bag.

Pajama Pants Project

Students will learn the fundamentals of making a garment, including:

Reading a commercial sewing pattern
Taking body measurements to determine sizing
Understanding the importance of pre-washing fabric
Laying out pattern pieces
Cutting fabric accurately
Understanding directional sewing
Sewing and constructing a garment
Applying skills learned in Junior Sew-ciology 1

Prerequisite

Students must have completed Junior Sew-ciology 1 or have equivalent sewing machine experience.

A Cozy, Creative Learning Environment

Our small classes allow each student plenty of time with the teacher for guidance, encouragement, and hands-on learning. The classroom is fully equipped with conventional sewing machines and all the tools and supplies needed for the projects.

Students will have plenty of opportunities to let their creativity take shape while developing practical sewing skills and confidence.

All supplies are included in the course fee of $225.00 + GST

The class is fully equipped with everything needed to successfully complete every project. 

Water cooler & washroom available. 

No food orvdrink allowed in the classroom. 

Please bring slippers or indoor shoes to wear in the classroom.
