Welcome to Intro to Sew-ciology — Level 2

Continue your wonderful journey into world of sewing in our new 6-week Intro to Sew-ciology Level 2 course!

Designed for beginners, this small-group class is the perfect place to learn the fundamentals of sewing in a relaxed, supportive environment. You’ll develop the skills and confidence needed to safely operate a sewing machine while practicing hand-eye coordination, patience, and precision.
  • Small class sizes: 6 students  
  • Class length: 6 x 1.5hr 
  • All sewing machines, tools, and notions provided

This class is for adults & Youth (15+).

Project 1: Lounge Pants w/pockets

Yours first sewing project will be our casual Lounge Pants made from 100% cotton fabric. featuring an elastic waistband and the must-have side seam pockets. 

As you create your pants, you’ll learn essential sewing techniques, including:

* Introduction to commercial patterns
* Tracing and cutting sewing patterns
* Proper pinning and ironing techniques
* How to hem a project
* Sew a side seam pocket
* Building confidence with patterns

This hands-on project will introduce you to the essential skills every sewist needs.

Project 2: Large Zippered Pouch

Next, you’ll learn how to sew a zipper while creating a Large Zippered Pouch.

This project will be a refresher on how to sew with a zipper. 

Important Information

Come learn in a relaxed and welcoming studio environment where everything you need to sew is provided. Our classroom is fully equipped with sewing machines, tools, and notions needed to complete your projects.

With only 6 students per class, you’ll have plenty of opportunity for hands-on instruction and one-on-one time with your instructor.

For your convenience, the studio has a water cooler and washroom. Please note that no food or drinks are permitted in the classroom.

Please bring slippers or indoor shoes to wear in the classroom.

We understand that life happens if you have to miss a day, make-up classes are available by private appointment. Arrangements can be made when the time comes.
